I am quickly discovering that buying a house is not the most stressful thing a person can do, it’s moving OUT of the rental property that you’re in ……. 16 more sleeps until I can fall asleep under my ‘own’ roof, for which I’m jumping for joy. Our real estate agent and bank have been a pure delight to deal with, and we exchanged contracts within 6 days of our first viewing of the property. Some kind of record??

On the work front, the shop is just frantic with all the media reports on bpa free baby bottles and bpa free drink bottles of late. Some of the major retailers have decided to ‘phase out’ the sale of toxic baby bottles. I’m guessing the average mum would still like to know when the government will catch up and actually ban the stuff. Gotta love the free publicity though!!

And in some bizarre twist, without any SEO work at all, we’re now on the front page of Google for the phrases water bottles, water bottle, drink bottles & drink bottle. When we hit #1 for all of them, The School of St Jude is going to get a nice fat donation from me on top of the monthly spend we already give them and World Vision. I’m all for sharing the wealth.

I wonder how many other people have been ripped off that didn’t go through MyShopping.com.au to find them or couldn’t be bothered complaining. I have actually had a couple of customers tell me they ordered through them and it never turned up, so they came to me instead. Great way to run a business guys.

Wow, busy work weekend. I installed 6, yes SIX copies of Word Press this weekend with various custom templates from Woo Themes and Gorilla Themes. We have blogs for Cheap Dresses, Strapless Black Dress, Buy Clothes Online, Suicide Safety Network, Vegan Shopping Australia and Organic Skin Care. They’re not populated with content just yet, both me and my clients are still working on that part.

Plus, to top it all off, we’ve been adding stock to Shop Naturally, including the cutest Insulated Lunch Bag range I’ve ever seen from Skip Hop and I wrote a funny thermos flask recipe over at I can’t believe it’s not a recipe.

………….. and it’s only Saturday night!

I found it amusing this morning while doing a bit of research online – a few weeks ago, I was the only online retailer selling the ecococoon stainless steel cups with a free set of the go-betweens so they don’t get stuck together.  Now at least two other competitors have decided to give away the go-betweens for free as well. So if you’ve bought some ecococoon cups online and you got a free set, you can say thank you to me later

Word of advice for the competition, if I ever catch anyone taking any of my images off any of my websites, you will get one warning, and then you will be receiving a bill for the prior use of my artwork and another bill for future use should you not remove them. As a professional web designer / artwork developer / creative director / all round internet marketing guru (my day job), I take the theft of my work, regardless of how small or insignificant the image may be, very seriously. Myself and the staff working here at Shop Naturally put a huge amount of time and effort in to making our site out shine all others on the internet and stealing my work will NOT be tolerated.

I would like to give a bit shout out to my dear friend Sergio who gave me the motivation I needed to tighten up the SEO in my little family of websites. I couldn’t have done it without your help. I’m now on the front page of Google for the phrases water bottles and water bottle.

All our web design clients will be benefiting from the knowledge and experience I gained throughout this whole process. Think I might have to put my hourly rate up

We’re certainly not on the podium yet, but I’m sure a Canadian Olympic Official will be approaching me soon with a bunch of flowers and a big yellow shiny sparkly object to hang around my neck. When that happens – massive sale on with FREE water bottles and watch the job ads on the Central Coast because we’ll be hiring more staff and shifting in to a larger warehouse soon. We’re surrounded by boxes!!

From everything I’ve heard, Nigel Kennedy is an eccentric ratbag, and I have had the honour of witnessing his genius and touching his hand once already in this life and I’m going to see him again at the Opera House in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait!!

In my travels researching products for the shop, I came across a great site that sells Australian Made Modern Cloth Nappies called Green Kids. Now since I have no desire to ever sell nappies (after all, I do think that if you haven’t changed hundreds of them and gagged at the smell, then you don’t know enough about them to sell them), I feel liek giving them a free plug!
